  • Engaging global communities in research learning

    Enabling understanding of clinical research and its role in improving healthcare is a core objective in the Network. In 2015 the Network’s Workforce, Learning and Organisational Development team partnered with the Digital Learning team at Leeds University to develop a MOOC; ‘Improving Healthcare through Clinical Research’. The MOOC is free, and available to anyone wanting to learn about clinical research.

  • Bridging the gap

    Assessing a person with dementia in a research study requires a high level of skill and expertise. Having experienced raters available can affect whether the life-sciences industry choose to run a study in the UK. Insight Monthly investigates an innovative programme to increase the number of raters in the Clinical Research Network.

  • What makes a good commercial partner?

    The Industry Roadmap group provides a forum in which the Clinical Research Network and the Biopharmaceutical Industry (including Contract Research Organisations) can interact, with the aim of optimising support for the delivery of commercially sponsored clinical trials supported by the Network. The group surveyed NHS employees to understand how they as companies could best work with the NHS to deliver research.
