Dementias and neurodegeneration

About Dementias and neurodegeneration (DeNDRoN)

The Dementias and neurodegeneration (DeNDRoN) Specialty is one of 30 Specialties which bring together communities of clinical practice to provide national networks of research expertise. Our membership is made up of research-interested clinicians and practitioners at both national and local levels. Our job is to ensure that studies into dementia and neurodegeneration that are included in our national portfolio of research receive the right support to make sure they are delivered successfully in the NHS.

We oversee research that deals with dementias, Huntington’s disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases such as ataxia. This means that we support a wide range of research studies that examine the diagnosis, prevention, treatment and care of these conditions.
